Irish Family Companies is proudly a certified Women’s Business Enterprise and fourth-generation family-owned and operated company. Founded by Ralph Irish in 1932, we originated as R.N. Coal Company, and have since grown and expanded throughout the Western and Central New York region over the past nine decades.

As the world transitioned from coal to natural gas for home heating after World War II, we expanded our offerings to include industrial gases and welding supplies, eventually adding propane to our portfolio. Irish is continuously adapting to meet the needs of our customers and the demands of our communities. As a result, we evolved from Irish Propane to Irish Energy to meet the growing demand for diverse energy sources and equipment.
